A native of College Park, Georgia, Darren Morgan attended Frederick Douglass High School. From there he went on to study at Davidson College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Minor in Religion. While at Davidson, Darren participated in several performing arts organizations, club baseball, community service groups with the focus on improving conditions for Charlotte’s homeless population, and studied abroad in Ghana, West Africa. These experiences truly shaped his desire to serve his community.
After graduating in 2008, Darren continued his work in the community by working for A Child’s Place, a non-profit organization that assists homeless students within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system before transitioning into Corporate America to serve in the Retail Investment Division on Pennsylvania-based The Vanguard Group. Wanting to return to a position where he could continue to help children, Darren returned to Davidson College to serve as an Admissions Counselor in 2011.
Over the next five years, Darren would serve as the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid, the Associate Director of Davidson’s July Experience Summer Enrichment Program, as well as lead the Diversity Initiative Team on campus. It is his desire to use the information that he has learned while working in Admissions to provide high school students with the resources and knowledge to get accepted into their dream school.
