9TH GRADE – THE FOUNDATION YEAR
- Introductory Meeting including Parents/Guardians (August/ September)
- Orientation to Program plus College Counseling with advice on grades, course selection, extra-curricular activities, and career exploration
- Monthly College Counseling/ PSAT Test Prep Sessions (once a month)
- Basic Financial Aid and financial planning session
10TH GRADE – ACTIVITY INVOLVEMENT AND IMPROVING GRADES
- Emphasis will be placed on overall mentoring, continued academic progress and leadership development
- Monthly College Counseling/ Test Prep Sessions (once a month)
- ACT or SAT to be taken once during the year: REQUIRED
- Financial Aid and planning session – Part 2
11TH GRADE – OFFICIALLY BECOMING PART OF THE COMMITMENT
- Monthly College Counseling/SAT & ACT Test Prep Seminars (once a month during first semester; then twice a month in second semester)
- Official Candidate Application (first semester)
- PSAT prep (September); ACT prep program (starting in January); ACT and/or SAT to be taken once or more during the year and in the second semester at the latest: REQUIRED
- Spring semester starting the college search process, researching schools and programs, developing potential, school lists and formal interview process with Director: REQUIRED
- College Tour
- Community service projects: REQUIRED
- Summer Programs research and application
12TH GRADE – COLLEGE SEARCH/ FINANCIAL AID/ SCHOLARSHIPS/ INTERNSHIPS
- Numerous College Counseling/SAT & ACT Test Prep Seminars (at intervals during the academic year)
Institutional and Outside scholarship application (entire school year) - Financial Aid Workshop (November-January)
- Intern Application (March); Intern Interviews (April)
- ACT/ SAT to be taken as needed during the fall semester depending on previous scores: REQUIRED
- Community service projects: REQUIRED
