January 5, 2010
AC alumni have a strong presence at the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. annual debutante ball.
At this year's annual Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. debutante ball, two AC alumni were honored as Miss Pi Lambda and first runner-up in the event. Temple Reed Price, a freshman at Wellesley College (MA) and graduate of Hall High School, received $2,000 as she was named Miss Pi Lambda Sweetheart 2009 and the top in ad sales. Kailyn-Marie Bostic, a freshman at Spelman College (GA) and graduate of Episcopal Collegiate, received $1,200 as the first-runner up and second in ad sales. Miss Pi Lambda Sweetheart 2008 was Quersten McDonald, also an AC alum, a sophomore at Sewanee: The University of the South (TN) and graduate of Little Rock Central High School.
Miss Pi Lambda is selected on the basis of academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, grace, and individual interview. Congratulations ladies and all of the debutantes!
